Carfari Show & Pre-Croft

posted 23 Sep 2012, 12:10 by Kieren McDonald
A quick update - we are off to Croft - couldn't resist - it'll be a long journey but it is a great circuit! According to the countdown on the left, it is in 6 days time....

Dave Yardy at Track, Road and Race found a rather fundamental issue upon inspection following the last rounds at Thruxton - front subframe rather bent and a broken tie rod mounting - that'll be why it was pulling lots on warm down lap and was rather difficult to push! It appears it went on a common weak area and surely when I hopped over the kerbing.  For now Dave has repaired it ahead of Croft but looks like plan ahead of next season will be a new subframe seeing as this one is a bit wonky, not allowing the optimum setup.  Aside from that, everything else is looking ok - replacement front bumper and gear to be changed.....

In the meantime, I was invited to the official launch event for Carfari - check out their website here:  http://carfari.co.uk/  - I took the mini along to sit alongside the mix of cars on show.  All sorts were on display - everything from Italian exotica, American Muscle, to vintage! Matt who is running Carfari is a top bloke and is putting a lot of effort into making this a success so please do show your support.  The launch event was held at my local indoor karting circuit - http://www.rogueracing.co.uk/ - a special offer was being held to attendees of Carfari so we had a quick 15 minute blast around the fun circuit; it would have been rude not to!! If you are around the area, make sure you pop along and try it out...challenging but great fun and a warm, friendly team to assist where needed.

Unfortunately only a few pics captured with my mobile and of course the weather wasn't too great....click the link below to check out a few more pics:
